Hannah & Matt

May 30th, 2020

Hannah and Matt were the very first couple to officially join the Flat Ridge Family! Originally, Hannah and Matt were supposed to have an amazing wedding day surrounded by all of their friends and family. Unfortunately, their wedding date fell only a few short months after COVID made its appearance. Because of this, they were forced to change their plans! Hannah & Matt’s faith in God and hope for their future encouraged them to move forward with their ceremony so that they could start their life together. Although the wedding was not what Hannah & Matt originally planned, I would argue that the end result was even better.

Their wedding day was perfect! On May 30, 2020, Hannah & Matt had an intimate “COVID” wedding ceremony in the woods on their grandparents’ property with their closest friends and family. They spent the day before the ceremony clearing the area and setting up a beautiful space to hold the wedding. A small reception followed with a lovely dinner and time for celebration.

From Lego cake toppers, singing a hymn together lead by close family and friends, to recreating a photo that Hannah’s grandparents took years ago, they filled their day with amazing personal touches. At the end of the evening, their friends left them with the most unfortunate gift of all - a getaway car covered in sticky notes and “Just Married” messages!

Don’t worry, Hannah & Matt celebrated big with all of their friends and family a year later! I am so thankful that they were the first Flat Ridge wedding.  They were such an amazing couple to work with and I can’t wait to continue to watch their adventures and love grow!
